(CMR) At a time when cinemas worldwide have seen a decline in customers due to the coronavirus pandemic, Camana Bay Cinema has opened two new VIP cinemas to meet the increased demand for VIP seating.
The new cinemas were part of significant improvements carried out at the complex last month.
The cinemas, located in the space that was formerly Cinema 4, are smaller than the first VIP cinema, with each having 25 recliner seats and Dolby Atmos sound systems, Camana Bay said.
In an article on the Camana Bay website, Cinema General Manager Corey Randolph said the aim was “to enhance the guest experience.” He said,
“We've effectively doubled the number of VIP seats we have available. And with three different VIP theatres, we have flexibility. We can offer more films with the VIP experience, or show the big hits in more than one VIP auditorium at the same time.”
Randolph said that the smaller VIP auditoriums would allow the cinema to offer screening buyouts at a much lower cost.
“They will be great for a variety of private events and even birthday parties for kids,” he said.
He said having three VIP theatres also provided room for more flexibility.
People attending the VIP cinemas will have an exclusive entrance at the cinema complex's back. VIP guests will also have the option to order food served in the concession area and have it delivered to the VIP lounge area.
The new cinemas also have two touchscreen “Pepsi Spire” machines, the only ones on the island, allowing VIP customers unlimited refills of their favorite shots.
They also have a greater aesthetic appeal with strip lighting on the walls and lighted aisle and seat numbers to help guests navigate the room in the dark.
Randolph said additional improvements at the cinema are coming in the form of new food items on the concession menu.
