(CMR) Due to the latest projected path of Tropical Storm Elsa, Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) confirms that, at this time, no changes to the airline’s flight operations are anticipated as a result of this storm. Cayman Airways will continue to monitor the path of Elsa, which has been downgraded from a hurricane, with the safety of passengers and crew being the first priority.
Passengers with existing tickets to travel through July 5, 2021, will be contacted directly if weather conditions do require unexpected schedule changes.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Elsa is a little weaker and slower Sunday as it swirls away from Haiti toward Jamaica and Cuba. The hurricane center said Elsa was moving west-northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. Elsa's tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles from its center.
