(CMR) Bryan Hunter, manager partner of the Cayman office and Corporate Group Head in Cayman for Appleby law firm is set to retire in early 2020.
In a CMR exclusive, our source has indicated that the seasoned attorney will be leaving sometime early next year. The annoucement was made yesterday to staff via email. Bryan has worked with the firm for twenty-two years and took over at MP in October 2012 after taking over from Huw Moses.
Bryan is also the Global Head of the Funds and Investment Services team. He became a partner at the firm in 2002. His replacement will be Norman Klein.
Hunter is a well-known third-generation attorney in the Cayman Islands and has served on numerous boards over the years including Cayman National Corporation. His father, Arthur Hunter, was a pioneer in the legal professional who founded the law firm Hunter & Hunter which eventually became Appleby (Cayman) Ltd. The elder Hunter was the first Caymanians to be academically qualified as an attorney.
Hunter is also a PPM member and there is speculation that he may enter the political arena.
