(CMR) Another Britsh Airways flight arrived this afternoon with primarily Caymanians and residents returning to the island.
Sources indicate that some 95 persons were on the flight with the vast majority of those being Caymanians and residents with the legal right to return home. 20 of the individuals are work permits holders and their accompanying family members. Additionally, there are some essential workers such as police and civil servants. 11 short term contractors are also coming in to assist with the completion of the airport runway extension project.
The priority for the Britsh Airways airbridge flights is for the return of Caymanians and permanent residency holders. All persons will be quarantined and have been taken to the hotel facility for the next 14 days. Several school buses collected the passengers and transported them to the quarantine facility.
The return flight leaves tomorrow and is expected to be full. It will stop in Turks and Caicos and collect some 25-30 persons returning to the UK.
