(CMR) A high school year 9 student at Triple C has tested positive for COVID-19 it was reported this morning causing the school to shut down at 11:00 am. The student is not at school this morning. As a result of this students will have to wear their masks to school and the mask-option practice has been suspended.
CMR sources have indicated that the child is connected to another child at Prospect Primary.
Public Health has advised the school administrators that they will be testing the students from that particular class, as well as any teachers who have taught the class.
The decision to close the school was taken after Public Health indicated that the students from that High School class only to go get tested at Doctor's Hospital, along with the teachers, which placed the school in a difficult situation with a staffing shortage.
Parents were notified that:
Please come collect your children a soon as you can and in the usual way you do. I will suspend the cell phone rule for today, so you can call your kids and vise-versa.
Elementary and After School Care children will be held until parents can collect them, but the school asked that they do so ASAP.
