(CMR) A stolen vehicle overturned on Cayman Brac and left a man with serious injuries.
The driver remains in stable condition at the Cayman Islands Hospital after the vehicle he was driving overturned at around 5:30 PM on Monday near Rebecca’s Cave Road in Cayman Brac.
Reports from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) are that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen from Blackbeard’s Liquor on Gerrard Smith Avenue shortly before the collision.
The vehicle, a green Toyota Avalon, is said to have drifted away from the roadway and overturned.
Police officers and emergency personnel, who arrived at the scene, transported the driver to the Faith Hospital for treatment for serious injuries including internal bleeding.
The driver was later airlifted to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Investigations into the collision and theft are ongoing.
