(CMR) Cayman Marl Road received a tip early this morning that PC Daniel Devine was arrested for animal cruelty.
We contacted the RCIPS and despite not responding directly to our email they have since issued a statement that a 26 year-old George Town man has been charged with one count of animal cruelty as a result of an investigation by the Department of Agriculture into an incident in December of 2017. The man is a police constable with the RCIPS.
Our sources indicate that the officer is PC Daniel Devine from the UK.
The allegation is that he delayed veterinary treatment to his pet dog after it had been struck by a car. Devine was arrested by a staff member of the Department of Agriculture on 13 June, and is currently on bail.
PC Daniel Devine is the NPD Officer in charge of the Beat 8 South
