(CMR) Over a week ago it was reported that Cayman had lost another soul tragically Jill Ebanks Dilbert AKA JILLO. Now the police have confirmed the cause of death was drug overdose as a result of the decease attempting to smuggle drugs into the islands.
Initially social media reports were that that deceased, age 44 had died of a heart attack. However, within hours Cayman Marl Road had received information that he had just returned from a trip to Honduras and actually died as a result of drugs in his system while acting as a drug mule. Our sources were very detailed in their reports and even indicated that family members attempted to assist him but it was already too late and the physical indications made it clear that this was not a heart attack. In fact, they stated he had ingested both cocaine and heroine pellets in an attempt to smuggle them into the island.
Now the RCIPS can confirm that shortly before 10:00 pm on Monday, 1 October, officers responded to a report of the sudden death of a 44-year-old man at a residence in Prospect.
A post-mortem was subsequently completed, during which it was determined that the deceased, who had just returned to the island from Honduras, had ingested a large number of pellets containing what is believed to be cocaine, some of which were discovered to have ruptured. Further tests are pending before the official cause of death will be determined.
The controlled drugs recovered have an estimated street value of $25,000 KYD. The matter is currently under investigation by the Coroner’s office.
Jillo was a well known DJ and local businessman.
