(CMR) Reports are that a young man was denied entrance to Da Station Bar and Lounge in Prospect last night and as a result decided to take matters into his own hands and vandalized the place.
The most interesting part of the story is that the alleged perpetrator is the owner's son!
Cayman Marl Road contributor, Sherry-Ann Smith, was on-site and able to capture videos and photographs of the carnage. We can see broken glass bottles and debris all over the floor. It is alleged that he went behind the counter and according to one eyewitness:
“Mashed the whole f****** place wide open”
Pieces of broken Bacardi bottles and chairs can be seen on the floor. Workers can be seen in another video standing outside the establishment in total awe.
We understand the incident occurred close to closing time and that CID was on the scene investigating the matter shortly after. An ambulance and gurney could also be seen in front of the bar.
This is a developing story and as more information becomes available we will share it.
UPDATE: Just before 4:30 AM this morning, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched police to a report of a disturbance at a bar on Shamrock Road. A man had banged on the door and broken it to gain entry, then upset furniture and caused a general disturbance inside during which a woman was assaulted.
The woman is in the hospital with what may be serious injuries. A man, age 23, was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and is currently in police custody.
