(CMR) Caymanian Voices National Survey has decided to postpone its scheduled survey based on the recent decision of the Grand Court to delay the upcoming referendum in December.
Kenneth Bryan (GTC), announced his plans to piggyback off the upcoming referendum to survey the Cayman voting populous in order to gauge their views on what he says are several issues of national importance. Bryan had already begun galvanizing his resources and volunteers to get ready for the date. The undertaking would require him to have all voting poll locations manned by volunteers and equipment able to take the votes. However, after the Grand Court decision yesterday to postpone the referendum pending the outcome of two judicial review hearings Bryan has now decided to postpone his survey as well.
In a statement shared this afternoon he confirms that:
“the Executive Committee of the Caymanian Voices National Survey has taken the decision to temporarily suspend survey activity in order to maximize voter participation.”
The nine-person executive committee will be canceling scheduled volunteer training sessions and pre-surveying events previously advertised.
People should remain tuned into local media for further updates.
