(CMR) After several nights of police operations in Prospect including one this morning we can now confirm that Elemer Wright is in police custody.
CMR viewers had shared with us that the past two nights saw police helicopters, cars and officers with firearms in the area. In fact, there were armed police units this morning around 8:30 a.m. on Marina Drive removing a Honda civic from a property.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) have confirmed in a release moments ago that Elemer Wright was now in police custody.
On March 7, police said that they were looking for Wright, who is 24 years of age from George Town. Police have confirmed that he is a person of interest in the murder of Dougmore Leroy Wright, 44, of George Town. He was shot and killed on Tuesday night (6 March) in Prospect.
Police also confirm a warrant was out for Mr. Elemer Wright in relation to a 2017 home invasion in Patrick’s Island.
Police described Wright as armed and dangerous, and had cautioned that he should not be approached or followed.
The RCIPS, said a further statement would be forthcoming.
