(CMR) Reliable sources have informed CMR that the 10 Cuban migrants who went missing in the Cayman Islands Monday morning were found drifting at sea by the US Coast Guard and are being returned to Cayman today.
Rumors are being heavily circulated that some of them may have been involved in the weekend jewelry store robbery, and evidence of this was found on the boat and in their apartments.
The 10 missing migrants were reportedly not the only ones on the boat. Three Cubans who were granted Caymanian status, including a child, were also on the boat. These three were really featured on CMR protesting for rights to be able to work freely on the island.
The migrants are believed to be on their way back to the Cayman Islands.
The group was reportedly spotted by persons on the cargo vessel Bulk Freedom, which was en route from the US to Panama. They were then picked up by US authorities.
CMR was informed on Monday that the group had likely fled the Cayman Islands for Mexico in an attempt to eventually get into the United States.
