(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has arrested a 36-year-old Indian male residing in George Town on suspicion of indecent assault on a female child Monday at Smith's Barcadere, George Town.
Reports from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) are that they received reports at around 3:20 pm that, while in the water, a man had assaulted the child. He was subsequently arrested and remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
The matter is currently under investigation and all safeguarding measures have been put in place for the victim.
This is the second time that a man has been arrested at this location for indecent assault on a child at that location. On February 4 officers responded to another report of an indecent assault at the popular local beach. It was reported that a man had inappropriately touched a juvenile while in the water. When officers arrived on scene the 51-year-old man had left the area on foot but was later arrested.
There have been no further updates on that matter as yet.
The matter is currently under investigation by officers from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and all safeguarding measures have been put in place for the victims.
