(CMR) Kenia Alonzo Solis (29) plead guilty today in Grand Court to a single bigamy charge.
The defendant appeared before a stern Justice Wood in a brief hearing this morning when she finally accepted responsibility for the bigamy charge against her. He made it clear to her sister, who is acting as her surety, that she will be held responsible should Solis decide to abscond from the jurisdiction. He also speak in firm terms to Solis directly and informed her that she needed to appear back before him next Friday at 12 pm for her sentencing without fail.
The warnings appear appropriate as the marl road has been abuzz with rumors of her wanting to leave the island before her sentencing. She remains on bail until April 20.
Solis recently received a lot of negative responses from persons in the community who blame her for the untimely death of her second husband. Many have called for her to be deported after she married several young Caymanian men and lived under a false aliases with fake documents for many years in the jurisdiction. Read more here.
CMR sources indicate she MAY also be married to someone in Honduras that she never divorced. If true, that would mean 3 husbands and no divorces.
