(CMR) Cayman Marl Road has learned that one of the Cayman Brac quarantine breachers is a nurse working at Faith Hospital. Amy and Brad Hunt have now been placed in quarantine and fitted with monitoring bracelets.
Amy Hunt is a registered nurse with the Health Services Authority (HSA) in Cayman Brac since June 2018. Prior to that, she worked for 15 years as a registered nurse at CHI Health St. Elizabeth a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her husband, Brad Hunt is a terminal supervisor at Rubis in Cayman Brac for the past 8 months.
Police confirmed that the matter is under investigation and a file would be sent to the DPP's office for review and possible prosecution. Health Services Authority management is aware that one of their employees is now in quarantine for participating in a breach with her husband.
It appears that they visited with a couple who was in quarantine; which is a direct violation of the COVID-19 regulations. Now, they could be facing jail time.
The American couple has shocked the Brac community with their reckless action. Within days of this relation, it was reported that there are at least three positive COVID cases on the Brac. Officials have not confirmed those numbers but well place sources have shared this information and believe authorities are trying to hide it.
One resident shared:
“But we’ve all heard there are several cases of covid here and they’re being quarantined. And they’re trying to keep it quiet.”
It remains to be seen what will happen with this case as the public anxiously awaits prosecution confirmation from other breaches.
