(CMR) Concerned residents are asking for the public's assistance in locating their stolen BMW vehicle.
Details are that last night several thieves rode their bicycles to a condo at Mangrove Point off the Lindford Pierson Highway and stole a black 2010 BMW X1. In the process, they left their bicycles behind. They also attempted to steal the same owner's Hyundai but were unsuccessful in hotwiring that vehicle. Both vehicles are black.
The incident occurred somewhere between 11:25 pm and 4:30 am.
Anyone who has seen the vehicle or know the ID of the thieves should immediately contact the police or send your confidential tipster information to CMR.
UPDATE: An eyewitness has come forward who saw the vehicle around 4:45 am at the stop lights at the intersection of Bobby Thompson Way hearing towards the cricket ground.
The stolent BMW approached the same intersection and turned right onto Crewe Road.
There was a single male driver in the vehicle who had the windows open. The driver's seat was reclined far back. He is described as lighter skinned Afro-Caribbean male in his early twenties. The person of interest was said to be wearing a hoodie and gloves whilst driving and smoking.
August 15 UPDATE: The vehicle was recovered by police yesterday morning. We understand that the tires were slashed.
