(CMR) It could be Thursday before we know the results of the 2020 presidential election in the United States.
This comes amid news in the battle ground state of Nevada which has said that it will not be making its results known until Thursday.
The Nevada Secretary of State’s Elections Division announced its hiatus from providing election result updates, noting that results would be presented on Thursday (November 5).
Joseph R. Biden is leading in Nevada, which has been trending blue in recent elections as its electorate becomes more diverse.
While Biden to the time of writing was closer to 270, than Trump the race is still tight with several races still neck and neck, with no definitive winner yet, despite over 80 percent of the votes counted in some states.
However the closeness of the race, has sent the Trump campaign into over drive as it has already said that it would be seeking a recount in Wisconsin and Michigan; while Michigan was only recently projected for Biden, with the camp holding a slim lead over Trump.
Michigan authorities have said they are committed to counting every vote.
As the Trump campaign announced its suit, Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, tweeted a map of the Great Lakes with the words, “Patience is a Virtue”.
At the close of the polls last night, Biden Told supporters that it wouldn't be before Wednesday that the results were likely to be known, cautioning that it wasn't over until the last vote was counted.
“Keep the faith guys, we’re gonna win this,” Biden told a crowd.
“We believe we’re on track to win this election, It ain’t over until every ballot is counted… but we’re feeling good about where we are,” he added.
Trump, on the other hand addressed his supporters a little after 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning also expressing confidence of his impending victory.
“We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election,” Trump told his supporters.
