(CMR) A six-month-old baby survived almost two days in a room with her mother's decomposing body after her mother was killed Saturday evening, 30 April, in St James, Jamaica.
The body of 20-year-old Christie ‘Kiddy’ McBean was found with a single stab wound to the chest at her home in Hurlock, St James, on Monday morning by her mother.
McBean's six-month-old daughter, who was found in a crib, was unhurt and has since been given a clean bill of health by doctors, Jamaica Gleaner reported
The woman, who worked at a call center in the Westgate area of Montego Bay, was reportedly found in a pool of blood by her mother at about 6:30 a.m.
Reports are that her mother went to her daughter's home early Monday after phone calls to her went unanswered on Sunday. She found the door to McBean's home ajar and saw her lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
McBean last spoke to family members Saturday; it is theorized she was killed sometime after.
The police have since named David Brown as a person of interest in the murder. He was reportedly seen with McBean on Saturday and was known to her.
Several persons have condemned the gruesome killing of the young mother, who was murdered five years after her father was killed.
