UPDATE: While reports have indicated that actor Armie Hammer is not working as a concierge at Morritt's, other reports have surfaced that he is selling timeshares.
A source tells Variety that Hammer is working selling timeshares at a hotel in Cayman, and that all other reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.
“He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle,” a source, who allegedly called Variety this week, said. “The reality is he’s totally broke and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”
(CMR) A report on social media and by TMZ that actor Armie Hammer was working as a concierge at Cayman hotel is false.
The rumor reportedly started with a tweet from Desus & Mero producer Muna Mire, showcasing a flyer from the Morritt's Resort in the Grand Cayman Islands claiming that the actor was a concierge for the hotel.
However, the flyer was a prank that started as a joke, seemingly orchestrated by another member of the hotel staff. A representative from the hotel told EW that the prank was paying off for the hotel.
“You can't pay for this publicity,” the representative for Morritt's said, according to EW, noting that inquiries about Hammer's employment status were the most they've ever received in that short a window.
Hammer has been keeping a low profile after a series of sexual abuse allegations against him. His estranged wife and children had been living in the Cayman Islands since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the actor visiting on several occasions.
