(CMR) The police are now investigating an armed robbery that took place at a business establishment in George Town on Tuesday afternoon, 14 September. Reports are that two masked men entered the establishment, and one of the men brandished a machete and demanded money.
Police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to report the robbery at a business located on Eastern Avenue just before 3:40 pm.
A quantity of cash was taken by the men, and they made off from the location in a white sedan motor vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.
One of the men was described as wearing a white t-shirt, long jeans, and a mask on his face; the second man was wearing a white t-shirt, dark-colored shorts, a hat, and had a camouflage scarf covering his face.
Shortly after the incident, a 22-year-old-man of George Town was arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to the incident. He is currently in custody pending further investigation.
