(CMR) A stabbing incident in North Side Estates, Newlands sent several men to the hospital Saturday evening shortly after 6:00 p.m. Initial reports received by CMR at 6:30 p.m. was that two men arrived at George Town Hospital with serious wounds and several were unconscious.
One eyewitness reported total chaos at the hospital with one person being rushed into surgery immediately.
Police have since confirmed that on February 27 police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a stabbing incident that took place at a residence in the North Sound Estate area of Bodden Town.
It was reported that a group of friends was gathered at the location when a physical altercation developed amongst three of the men who were visiting the location. This resulted in two men receiving stab wounds. The injured men were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by another male who was present, in a private vehicle, where they are currently undergoing treatment for what is believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 26-year-old-man was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH in relation to the incident and is being held in custody pending further investigation.
The incident is being investigated by the police.
Another report received Sunday morning claims that there was some dispute over the cost of having a car washed at the house that escalated.
