(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has arrested another man wanted for murder in Jamaica. The man is believed to be the person who fled the scene on 8 July when another Jamaican fugitive, Rudolph Shaw, was arrested.
Neville Peter Butler (27) was arrested along with three other Jamaicans, two of whom are also suspected of arriving in Cayman illegally. The other man, age 34, is a work permit holder and also a Jamaican national.
Police reports are that on Saturday, 6 August, RCIPS officers had cause to stop a vehicle while conducting a proactive operation in the vicinity of Batabano Road, West Bay. As the vehicle stopped, officers observed one of the occupants throw a package from the vehicle that contained suspected ganja.
All four occupants were arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja. Butler and the two of the other men were also arrested on suspicion of illegal landing.
Law enforcement partners in Jamaica have been notified, and all four men remain in custody as investigations continue. The RCIPS is working closely with the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control (CBC) and Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) in relation to this matter.
