(CMR) A 65-year-old American tourist has died shortly after 1:30 p.m. today after encountering some difficulty at Spotts Beach.
The RCIPS issued a release that the police and other emergency personnel were dispatched to a possible drowning in the area of Spotts Beach, George Town. Police, paramedics and other members of the public made attempts at reviving and resuscitate the 65-year-old man, who was found unresponsive out in the water. However, their efforts were futile.
A number of CMR watcher reported that multiple ambulances and three or four police cars, fire rescue and the helicopter were seen in full action shortly before 1:00 p.m. heading to the scene.
The man was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the on duty A&E doctor at 1:31PM.
This is the second water-related death involving a US tourist in the Cayman Islands since the start of the year.
