(CMR) There have been 678 positive test results since Friday with 99% being locally transmitted.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Lee reported that 3,696 PCR tests had been conducted since the last report on Friday, 5 November. 669 were from the local community.
These results brought the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands as at 8 a.m. on Monday, 8 November to 2,118.
The total number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic stood at 3,354 at the same time. Up to that point, 2,785 people were in isolation either in Government isolation facilities or at home.
In addition, there were 14 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the Cayman Islands at 8 a.m. on Monday, 8 November.
As at the same time, Faith Hospital confirmed there were 81 active cases in the Sister Islands, with two identified in the previous 24 hours and both from the community.
The Public Health Department also confirmed that up to 8 a.m. on Monday, 8 November there had been 832 total positive lateral flow tests since the introduction of the lateral flow test program in the Cayman Islands.
Up to 8 a.m. on Monday, 8 November there had also been 118,075 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 57,074 people (80% of 71,106) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 54,838 individuals (77%) had completed the two-dose course.
Additionally, 6,163 people (representing 9% of those over the age of 50) had received a third or booster dose up to that point. Public Health has released details on how the community spread has increased since early September.
