(CMR) Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen has announced that two members of our community have been awarded by His Majesty the King in his first Birthday Honours list for outstanding services to the Cayman Islands. The two recipients are Garth Alexander Arch and James Truman Watler.
Mr. Arch, chairman of the Children and Youth Services Foundation, is made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) ‘for services to Business, Commerce and the Community in the Cayman Islands’.
Mr. Watler, a retired civil servant, is made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) ‘for services to Public Service and Education in the Cayman Islands.'
“I send my warmest congratulations to both Mr. Arch and Mr. Watler on receiving their awards,” Governor Owen said.
His Majesty King Charles III’s first official birthday will be celebrated in the Cayman Islands on Monday, 19 June, with two major events, a parade and a garden party.
