(CMR) Police have identified the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run of a cruise ship visitor on 18 May and have made contact with the driver.
The female visitor was reportedly crossing the road in the vicinity of the Butterfield roundabout on Thursday, 18 May, when she was struck by a vehicle.
The police said they are aware of recent posts and public concern on social media regarding the collision and assured that the incident was reported to police that day, and the investigation into the matter has been ongoing.
Police are also in contact with the pedestrian, who was a visitor to the island, and her family.
The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is asked to contact the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.
