(CMR) Police in the Bahamas are investigating the sexual assault of a 43-year-old American woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted while on board a cruise ship on Tuesday.
Reports from Eyewitness News are that sometime around 7:30 a.m., a female passenger from Cleveland, Ohio, while onboard a cruise ship, visited the infirmary for medical attention. During this time, she was reportedly administered a dosage of medication by a male nurse, who allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The matter was reported to the police, which resulted in the arrest of the 34-year-old suspect.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Eyewitness News did not identify the name of the cruise line or the cruise ship in question. However, according to a cruise itinerary, at least four cruise ships called on Nassau yesterday: the Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Liberty, Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, and MSC Seascape.
