UPDATE: The 43-year-old man of North Side, who was arrested on Thursday, 2 March, in relation to a serious assault at an address in North Side, has now been formally charged with Assault GBH in relation to the incident. He appeared in court today, 6 March.
(CMR) A 43-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of wounding after another man received head injuries during a fight in North Side Thursday evening, 2 March.
Police reports are that shortly after 8:10 pm on Thursday, 2 March, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a serious assault at an address in North Side. It was reported that two men had been involved in an altercation, during which one of the men struck the other in the head with an object. Emergency services attended the location and the injured man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance to be treated for wounds to his head.
Officers subsequently located the other man involved, age 43 of North Side, and arrested him on suspicion of Wounding. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
