(CMR) Marcus Manderson, who was convicted (in absentia) last year for possession of an unlicensed firearm after previously absconding from Court bail, was arrested in a police operation on Thursday.

Police reports are that shortly after 10:40 am, 16 February, Manderson was arrested following a proactive police operation at a residence in the Washington Boulevard Area of George Town.
Manderson received a bite from a police K-9 during the arrest. He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged into police custody.
During the operation, police also recovered a loaded firearm from the residence.
A 24-year-old woman from George Town was also arrested on suspicion of defeating the course of justice for assisting Manderson in evading the police.
