(CMR) Police in Cayman Brac are currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred shortly after 1:00 pm today, 14 February, near the intersection of Polack Drive and Heights Road.
The driver of one of the vehicles, Thomas McLean (47), who is the father of four girls and 1 boy, was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel. A passenger, said to be his girlfriend, was not injured.
The driver of the other vehicle, an off-duty police officer, has been transported to the Faith Hospital for treatment for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
CMR sources revealed the off-duty police officer's vehicle ran into McLean's car.
RCIPS accident reconstructionists from the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit in Grand Cayman are traveling to Cayman Brac to assist in the investigation.
Polack Drive is currently closed near Heights Road as investigations continue.
