(CMR) The Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) said it understands that the community is sympathetic and may want to assist illegal migrants landing in Cayman; however, the community is urged to call 911 to allow the authorized first responders to assist.
CBC made this statement as it confirms that a vessel with three (3) male migrants arrived in Grand Cayman around 5:00 am on Monday, 2 January 2023. The migrants came ashore and were assisted by a private citizen.
The three migrants are being processed in accordance with established CBC protocols.
Forty-eight migrants landed in the Cayman Islands over the Christmas holidays as the Government is implementing policies expected to reduce the number of migrants on island.
