(CMR) The RCIPS is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Marcus Steve Manderson, who was found guilty on 2 December 2022 (in absentia) following a Grand Court trial for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm.
Manderson had absconded Court bail and was believed to have left the Island via boat. Investigators strongly believe he recently returned to the Cayman Islands and is being housed by various persons in the community. He is due to be sentenced in January 2023.
Manderson is believed to be armed and dangerous. The police are advising that members of the public should not approach him but instead call 9-1-1 upon sighting him.
Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about the whereabouts of this man to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or dial 9-1-1, specifically if the circumstances are time-sensitive.
Manderson, having been convicted of a serious criminal offense, is considered to be a fugitive evading the criminal justice process.
The RCIPS is warning anyone who chooses to aid, assist or harbor him that this is a criminal offense, which may lead to a lengthy period of imprisonment. The RCIPS will investigate anyone who harbors him.
