(CMR) A man accused of breaking into a woman's home and raping her last month denied the charges when he appeared in court last week.
Delan Campbell (24) from Bodden Town pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary, indecent assault, three counts of rape, and one charge of wrongful confinement. He was remanded in custody until his trial, which is expected to begin in April 2023.
Police reports are that on the morning of the attack, the woman was at the address in the vicinity of Crewe Road in George Town when Campbell, who is known to her, entered the house brandishing weapons, restrained her, and sexually assaulted her. He then transported her to another location.
The woman received minor injuries during the assault. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged. The police said appropriate safeguarding measures were put in place for her.
