(CMR)) Watoya Stewart and Eldon Chisholm are the two newest members of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MOTT) team after joining earlier this month as Senior Human Resources Manager and Policy Advisor, respectively.
As the Senior Human Resources Manager, Ms. Stewart will provide timely and high-quality operational and strategic human resource (HR) services, support and advice to the core Ministry; its departments and units.
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Social Sciences with concentrations in Human Resource Management and Applied Sociology, Ms. Stewart also possesses more than 15 years of Cayman Islands Government Human Resources (CIG HR) generalist experience.
Commenting on the new role, Ms. Stewart said, “I am truly excited to be joining the Ministry of Tourism & Transport and I am confident that my passion for, and experience in HR, will add more value to an already high performing team.”
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Stewart was employed with the Ministry of Education as a Senior HR Manager.
Working as the Ministry’s Policy Advisor, Mr. Chisholm will provide support to the Chief Officer and the Deputy Chief Officers in achieving the Ministry’s policy development responsibilities, strategic analysis, and other tourism and transport project-related work.
Mr. Chisholm earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Management and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management. Having previously worked in the Hotel and Restaurant industry, he brings with him more than a decade of experience. Eldon is also a veteran of the United States Army, serving more than five years in active duty, including a tour in Iraq.
“I am delighted to be joining the Ministry in this new capacity as Policy Advisor and look forward to supporting the team in delivering on a range of key projects, set to enhance the tourism product and transportation strategies for our islands,” said Mr. Chisholm.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Chisholm was employed with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) as the Product Development Officer for Cruise, Community and Standards. His responsibilities included the creation of standards and practices, developing and planning community activities as well as managing and monitoring the customer service the CIDOT provides at the ports of entry.
