(CMR) A 24-year-old Bodden Town man has been arrested on suspicion of rape, wrongful confinement, and aggravated burglary following reports he sexually assaulted a woman in her home Friday morning, 25 November.
Police said early Friday morning, they received a report of a serious sexual assault that had occurred at a residence in the vicinity of Crewe Road in George Town.
The woman was reportedly at the address when a man known to her entered the house brandishing weapons, restrained her, and sexually assaulted her. The man then transported her to another location.
Shortly afterward, police located and arrested the man. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
The woman received minor injuries during the assault. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged. Appropriate safeguarding measures have been put in place for her.
