(CMR) Cayman Marl Road has launched a community page designed to help with non-news-related posts impacting the community. It is geared towards providing information on lost and found items, non-profit events, and more.
The Facebook page launched several weeks ago and is designed to re-direct people there instead of on the primary CMR news site. People often reach out for assistance with accommodations or donations, which will also be featured on the page.
Content manager Sandy Hill explained the decision to set up a dedicated page:
“Honestly, we receive so many requests daily for lost and found items – it was taking over the primary news social media page. We are happy that we have been so incredibly successful in reuniting people with lost items, and this is a much more effective way of organizing that. We hope that people will like the page to “
In order for the page to be successful, it requires the community to know that it exists and to first go there for any lost or found items and community notifications.

CMR has committed itself to not just being a “media house” but integrating into the community at all levels. Cayman Marl Road covers more community events than anyone else and does birthday greetings, funeral announcements and more. It's merely an extension of what the CMR vision has already been about.
Continuing to explain this, Hill notes that:
“In keeping with the traditional marl road – where everything made its way there, we also include all of these elements. We are here to be a useful and meaningful tool in the community. I've always been in awe of the good that we have done with reuniting people with dogs, cats, money and even vehicles.”
To ensure you are reunited with your lost items, we suggest the page is followed and checked on a regular basis. At the moment, CMR is attempting to reunite people with a ring, mobile phones and a few other miscellaneous items.
Non-profit organizations can send their community events for inclusion in the community calendar and on the Facebook page as well. For profit organizations can inquire with our sales team for details on how to promote their events.
