(CMR) The police have launched an investigation into Wednesday night's McRuss Grocery store robbery off Party Lane in Prospect. They confirmed that four men entered the store and brandished firearms at the three workers on duty before escaping on foot toward the rear of the property with a quantity of cash and other items.
Shortly after 11:00 pm yesterday, 19 October, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a robbery at a grocery store. The owners of McRuss issued a statement Thursday morning thanking the public for their support and also confirming that they would be improving some of their security procedures to ensure the safety of their employees and customers:
The suspects were described as wearing long-sleeved hooded shirts, long pants, gloves and full face masks. One of the men is described as being about 5’2” in height, of dark complexion and chubby build. Another is described as about 5’7” tall and of slim build.
