(CMR) A George Town woman was charged with obstructing the course of justice after she attempted to dissuade a witness from giving evidence in a court case in which she is the defendant.
The 39-year-old has been formally charged with two counts of Obstructing the Course of Justice and one count of Conspiracy to Obstruct the Course of Justice for the incidents, which took place on 8 and 9 October.
She was arrested on Friday, 14 October. She appeared in court yesterday, 17 October, and was bailed with conditions pending a further appearance.
A 57-year-old man from Bodden Town was also arrested on Saturday, 15 October, on suspicion of conspiracy to obstruct the course of justice. It is alleged that he conspired with the woman and made contact with the same witness, in order to dissuade them from giving evidence. He has been placed on bail as investigations continue.
