(CMR) Rudolph ‘Boxer' Shaw, one of Jamaica's most wanted who was caught in the Cayman Islands, was shot dead by police on Saturday. Shaw was killed two days after escaping from the Central Police lockup in Kingston, Jamaica.
Police reports are that Shaw and another gunman were fatally shot by officers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Counter Terrorism & Organized Crime Investigations Branch (CTOC) and Metro Quick Response Team during an armed confrontation earlier this afternoon at a Guest House on Sandringham Avenue in Kingston. Two guns have been recovered.
Since his escape from police lockup on Thursday of this week, Shaw has been the subject of intense surveillance and tracking. Investigators identified that Shaw was staying at a guest house in the Sandringham area of Kingston.
When the police swooped down on the location, they were greeted by gunfire. Shaw and another man were shot and injured. They were taken to a medical facility, where they were pronounced dead. One .45 pistol and a 9mm pistol were seized.
A woman who was in their company was arrested and is in police custody.
Shaw was arrested in the Cayman Islands in July after police stopped a vehicle and the occupants attempted to flee.
