(CMR) The National Trust for the Cayman Islands has purchased a new parcel of primary Mastic forest to add to Cayman's protected area.
“We’re so excited to announce that the National Trust has purchased a new parcel of primary Mastic forest to add to our protected area, now preserved forever for the people of the Cayman Islands,” the National Trust said in a Facebook post.
The National Trust expressed appreciation to Michele Bryan Century 21 Cayman Islands for her help in making the purchase a reality.
“We hope to work with Michele again to set aside disappearing ecosystems and preserve the beauty of this special place we call home,” the post stated.
“And special thanks to Carla Reid for drawing our attention to this gorgeous parcel of undisturbed forest. This adds to the large area of land that is now protected due to the tireless dedication of Carla. We all owe her a debt of gratitude,” the post continued.
