(CMR) The Miss World Cayman Islands Organization has announced that the fourth edition of the Miss World Cayman pageant, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, 17 September 2022, has been postponed due to the passing of the United Kingdom's longest-serving monarch, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully at Balmoral Thursday afternoon, 8 September, at 96 years old.
The Cayman Islands has joined the UK and other Overseas Territories in 11 days of National Mourning until 8 am on the day after the State Funeral. With this in mind and as a mark of respect for Her late Majesty The Queen, the pageant has been rescheduled to Saturday, 24 September 2022, at Harquail Theatre, starting at 7 pm (cocktails at 6 pm).
