(CMR) Walkers Professional Services (WPS) has announced that 25-year-old Raheem Wilson and 21-year-old Antonia Mena Hebbert are the trainees selected to join its development program in the Cayman Islands.
Raheem and Antonia's training will continue for two years, during which time they will cycle through each of WPS' departments: corporate services, fiduciary services, corporate governance, finance, and compliance services.
The WPS Development Program is a comprehensive course designed to ensure that trainees have a holistic understanding of Walkers Professional Services and acquire extensive professional services skillset which can be applied in real-time.
Over 70 applications to the program were received. Speaking to this, Nadia Martinez, Vice President at WPS, said:
“It was absolutely remarkable to have such a demanding response to our call for applications. It demonstrates a desire among young Caymanians to learn and grow professionally.”
Raheem Wilson is a High Honours graduate of Clifton Hunter High School in Grand Cayman. Through the Cayman Islands Ministry of Education's Passport 2 Success program, he was placed with another offshore law firm, where he continued to work for five years. He has been employed with WPS since 2019 as a Finance Support Assistant.
Antonia Mena Hebbert holds an Associate's Degree in Hospitality Management from the University College of the Cayman Islands. She graduated with a Level 2 Diploma from the Layman E Scott High School in Cayman Brac. Before joining Walkers, she was an Events Administrator at Parcel 110.
CEO of WPS, Steven Manning, welcomed the new trainees to the program, saying: “WPS is honored to be in a position to support and shape the careers of Raheem and Antonia. We wish them every success.”
The WPS program is in its second year; existing trainees joined in April 2021 and have successfully completed rotations in corporate and fiduciary, and are expected to complete the program in 2023.
