(CMR) Brian Stephen Edward Gentle (49), a journeyman for Utility Maintenance and Construction (UMC) has been arrested and charged with rape in Belize. A 26-year-old woman there accused him of raping her in a car.
According to Belizean news, both the victim and the accused are from the same San Ignacio community in Belize. She alleges that Gentle raped her in a vehicle on Sunday. After the incident, she visited the hospital and then spoke with the police.
He was then arrested and charged on Tuesday.
Gentle is also in court in the Cayman Islands for Using an ICT Network to abuse/annoy/harass etc. He was arrested on July 12, 2021, for indecent exposure, intentional harassment, and misuse of ICT. He was also charged with insulting the modesty of a woman but that count got dismissed in January 2022.
He arrived in the Cayman Islands on a temporary work permit with UMC in December 2019. Sources revealed he is traveling overseas whilst his work permit renewal is pending but is due to appear back in Summary Court on July 11 for a mention.
