(CMR) Anwar Ali Bakari Abdurrahman, a Kenyan national residing in Cayman was killed last week in a fatal car crash on West Bay Road. The 41-year-old Kenyan national lost his life when he was leaving work at the Ritz Hotel where he worked as a loss prevention officer in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 26.
CMR was told he worked there for many years.
His friends have started a GoFundMe fundraising page to assist with the funeral expenses and any other unforeseen expenses as a result of his untimely passing. Thus far they have raised over $13,000 USD with a goal of $20,000.
He was described as “a kind humble loving and caring brother, not only a friend.”
CMR understands that he is survived by his wife who also resided and worked in the Cayman Islands. People are encouraged to make donations to the fund.
Caymanian Hunter Ebanks, age 24, has been arrested on suspicion of DUI in the matter.
