(CMR) A teacher was arrested in Clarendon, Jamaica, on Saturday after a 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing was found at home.
The police reportedly went to the teacher's home acting on information, but he was not at home when they arrived. However, he returned while they were there but denied it was his home.
“The teacher wasn't home, and the police were there knocking for a good while, but while the police were there him drive up, but he was telling the police it wasn't his house. So they took his key, tried the lock, and the door opened. They went into the house and found the girl hiding,” a source told Jamaica Gleaner.
The teacher reportedly works at a high school in Clarendon. It was not revealed if the teen attends the same school.
Jamaica's Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse is investigating the matter.
