(CMR) Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness has called on public sector workers not to create crises for themselves and to allow industrial negotiations to work after the third group of workers walked off the job on Friday.
Workers of the National Housing Trust walked off the job Friday following the actions of air traffic controllers who went on a strike Thursday, causing over 40 flights to the country to be canceled.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the country had a major water crisis with customers out of the commodity as workers of the National Water Commission also went on a strike.
The Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA), the union representing thousands of government employees, also gave notice of further demonstrations next week; however, it has since withdrawn the notice following a meeting with Minister of Finance Nigel Clarke on Friday.
Several Jamaicans have been calling for salary increases as inflation hits their pockets.
