(CMR) A massive explosion at the historic Hotel Saratoga in Old Havana, Cuba has caused total chaos in Cuba Friday morning with police and fire rescuers now combing through the rubble searching for survivors. The explosion was so powerful that it also destroyed buses and cars outside the hotel.
According to reports, the building suffered an explosion, and part of the exterior façade collapsed. There are no known details on the cause of the explosion, injuries, or casualties at this time.
The Hotel Saratoga is a luxurious neoclassical architecture style hotel located on the Paseo del Prado, in Old Havana, in front of the Fuente de la India, built in 1880 for warehouses, it was remodeled as a hotel in 1933 and reopened in 2005.
