(CMR) A DHL Aero Expreso Boeing 757 operating cargo flight between San Jose, Costa Rica and Guatemala City, Guatemala spun off the runway and broke into two in San Jose, Costa Rica, on Thursday, 7 April.
Reports are that the aircraft was headed for Guatemala when it suffered a hydraulic problem. After 10 minutes into the flight, the pilots decided to return to San Jose to enter a holding pattern for about 25 minutes.
During the landing, the plane went off the side of the runway and subsequently broke apart while coming to a complete stop. Rescue services rushed to the aircraft, and initial reports suggest nobody got seriously injured.
