(CMR) Mark Blake (Bling), aged 32, and his toddler daughter were killed in a fatal car accident in West Bay Sunday, April 3, shortly after 7:00 pm. The single-vehicle collision occurred on West Church Street, West Bay, near the junction of Henning Lane.

The vehicle, a blue Honda Accord, was traveling west along West Church Street with two occupants, a 32-year-old-man of West Bay and his 1-year-old daughter when the collision occurred. Both the Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) and the Emergency Medical Services were dispatched along with the police. The occupants were removed from the vehicle by the CIFS officers and immediately transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance, where they were both pronounced deceased by the attending doctor.

Police officers and CIFS officers are currently on the scene, and West Church Street has been closed between the four-way junction and Henning Lane and will remain closed throughout the night while investigations continue. The public is being asked to avoid this area if possible, and motorists are being diverted to Town Hall Road or Willie Farrington Drive. The RCIPS thanks the public for their cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

Traffic and Roads Policing Investigators are encouraging anyone with information regarding this collision to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
