(CMR) Two men, one of whom had a gun, robbed a customer at a service station on Dorcy Drive in George Town Tuesday night, 29 March.
Police reports are that shortly after 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the service station. It was reported that two men had arrived at the location on a motorcycle. One of the men then made his way into the service station carrying a firearm, fired a single shot upward, and demanded cash. He then took a quantity of cash from a customer and fled the location on the motorcycle along with the other man.
Shortly afterward, police had cause to stop a car with two occupants traveling in the vicinity of School Road. The vehicle refused instructions to stop immediately and continued off. The vehicle stopped shortly after and the two occupants made their escape. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found items that appeared to connect the car to the robbery incident. The vehicle has been recovered to be processed forensically as investigations continue.
The man who entered the service station was described as wearing long blue jeans, a multicolored long sleeve shirt, and had his hands, head and face covered. The second man was also wearing long clothing and had his head and face covered. The matter remains under investigation and anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
